This after school arts enrichment program is held at PS 31, with pickup options until 5:50pm for students in grades Pre-K through 4th. The schedule offers up to two classes daily and provides students with a variety of class options, including dance, music, language immersion, art, theater, and more. This flexible program allows you to enroll your child in as many or as few days as needed. Reduced rates are also available. Compass provides a 5-days/week after-school program until 6pm at the McCarren Play Center free of charge. Children are picked up at PS 31 and walked to the facility where they will do homework and engage in physical activity, arts and crafts, and free play. The program is run by the Greenpoint YMCA. The Greenpoint Y SACC program provides 2-day, 3-day, or 5-day after-school care until 6pm at the YMCA facility across the street from PS 31 for the upper grades, or at 176 Java Street for lower grades. Financial aid is available for families who qualify. Children are picked up at PS 31 and walked to the facility, where they will do homework and engage in physical activity, arts and crafts, and free play. Nueva York Kiddos
A unique Spanish program that offers a joyful learning environment for kids ages 5-9 years old. Our students spend time playing outside before every class and are exposed to Spanish through creative hands-on projects, games, experiments, songs, and fun lessons. International Ballet Institute
We offer pick up programs from Monday to Thursday with ballet, tap, & musical theater, French, and choreography classes for children in Kindergarten and up. New York Martial Arts Academy
Pick-up is offered from dismissal until 6pm from Monday through Friday for this awesome martial arts program. Focus Mixed Martial Arts
Focus MMA offers an action-packed after school martial arts program for kids from Pre-K through 5th grade. Our mixed martial arts curriculum combines techniques from a range of martial arts (Karate, BJJ, Muay Thai Boxing, Krav Maga, and others) to help kids develop physical fitness, coordination, and confidence. ESS Community Projects (Eckford Street Studio)
Art After School at Eckford Street Studio is a drop-off program for children in Pre-K to 3rd grade. We pick up from PS 31 on Fridays and bring students to our art studio, located on 70 Eckford Street. Pre-K and Kindergarten artists are in class until 4:15pm, with an extended day option until 5:30pm, and 1st through 3rd grade artists are in class until 5pm, with an extended day option until 6:15pm. Students explore a wide variety of materials and methods, learn about historical and contemporary art and artists, collaborate and problem solve, and have “open studio” time to work on their projects. McCarren Tennis Center
McCarren Tennis Center offers a unique and personalized indoor kids’ tennis program for all ages and levels. Our spacious LED-lit and temperature-controlled facility offers students a unique environment to learn tennis, the sport for a lifetime, in an optimal and comfortable all-season setting. Ms. J’s Pick Up and Play Program (PUP) is available for PS 31 students on Tuesdays and Thursdays, until 5pm for Pre-K and 6:30pm for K-5 students. This program runs the entire school year, pickup up students at dismissal. It provides small class sizes, offers homework assistance, craft time, stuctured, and unstructured play. Soccer Shots is an introduction to soccer program with a focus on character development and education. Children ages 4-5 will be picked up and walked to 738 Manhattan Avenue, 2nd floor, where they will learn the foundations of soccer and be engaged in a fun, high-energy environment. We also highlight a positive character trait each session, such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. Creative Nature NYC
We design open-ended art experiences where children are invited to use the materials in the studio to create ideas at their own pace. Inspired by Reggio Emilia pedagogy, prompts are made to stimulate creativity, and staff is present to facilitate their projects. This semester we are curious about investing natural colors from plant dyes, casting and molding with bioplastic recipes, using hobby motors, doing cardboard constructions, and more.
