About Us
PS31 PTA
- Our PTA is made up of all caregivers and teachers of students at PS 31.
If your child is a student, you are automatically a member. In addition, there are a few volunteer positions including President/Co-Presidents, Secretary/Co-Secretary, Treasurer, and Board Member.
- No dues are required to attend P.S. 31 PTA meetings; all are welcome.
- The goal of the P.S. 31 PTA is to enrich the school experience of all students by fundraising for extracurricular activities that are not funded by New York City Public Schools.
- All guardians of a child currently enrolled in P.S. 31 are automatically a part of the P.S. 31 PTA, no membership dues or mandatory volunteer hours required.
- PTA Meetings are a wonderful place to voice concerns and learn about P.S. 31 happenings.
- Please attend if your schedule allows. ANY P.S. 31 parent or guardian is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The mission of the pta
The goal of our PTA is to assist our school in achieving its goals and fostering a sense of community. However, due to the significant underfunding of schools in NYC, the primary way the PTA supports the school is through financial contributions.
The PTA raises funds and pays for all of the diverse educational programs for our kids enjoy beyond the DOE bare minimum. While our school receives a small DOE budget (for 2 gym teachers, Steam, hydroponics/cookshop, and the librarian), any additional enrichment teachers are funded by us, the PTA.
We offer enrichment instructors in art, music, and specialized programs beginning in Pre-K. In other words, the PTA helps elevate the school’s standards beyond the average.
COMMUNITY BUILDING AT THE HEART OF PS31
The PTA is also dedicated to building a strong community.
While securing funding for enrichment programs at our school is important, our top priority is fostering connections among families. We plan and organize events that allow parents and students to come together to enhance our school community. We invite you to
